Al-Anfal Verse 75 - And those who from the âmenû of those who wished

The Spoils of War

They ask you about the trophies. Say: “The trophys are for Allah and His Messenger. So, have takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah and amend the matters among you! Obey Allah and His Messenger if you are believers”.

Those are the true believers whose hearts tremble when Allah is praised. And when Allah’s Verses are read to them, they increase them in Faith, and they put their trust in their Lord.

They keep up the Prayer and spend out of what We have given them as endowment.

These are the true believers. For them are grades with their Lord and Forgiveness (replacement of sins with good) and a generous allotment.

It is just as when your Lord brought you out of your home in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers was unwilling.

They dispute with you about the truth after it (situation) had become clear, as if they were being driven to an apparent death.

And Allah has promised you one of two detachment. And you want to get an unarmed detachment. But Allah desires the truth to be fulfilled by His Words and for the disbelievers to be cut off (the eradicate their continuation of the progeny),

so that establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if sinners do not want it.

When you sought help from your Lord, so He answered you. (It is) I am the one who assisted you with a thousand of the angles each behind the other in succession.

And Allah made it (this help) only as glad tidings, and that your hearts be satisfied with it. And there is no help except from Allah. Surely, Allah is Majestic, All-Wise (the Owner of Judgment and Wisdom).

A state of sleep from Him (from Allah Almighty) has enveloped you so that you feel confident (and not fear). And He sent down water (rain) from heaven to you to purify you with it and to remove from you the whispering of Satan, and to bind your hearts and thereby steady your footsteps.

Your Lord had revealed to the angels: “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who believe (who have become âmenû, those who have wished their spirit to reach Allah). I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and strike each fingertip of them”.

This is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger, then Allah is Severe in requiting.

So now you can taste it! And surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.

O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When you meet with unbelieving troops (on the battlefield), then do not turn your backs to them,

except for those who return again to fight or to rejoin some troops. Whoever on that day turns back on them (runs away from them), he will incur the wrath of Allah, and hell will be his refuge. And how bad is this place of return!

So, you did not kill them, but it was Allah Who killed them. And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah Who threw. And Allah might test the believers by a lovely trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

That is it, and Allah is the frustrates of the wiles of the disbelievers.

If you want victory, then victory has come to you (with the help of a majestic army). And if you refuse (from fighting, from confrontation), then this is a greater good for you. And if you return (to war, to denial), then We shall return too. And nothing will bring any benefit to your detachment, even if it is numerous. And verily, Allah is with the believers!

O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish spirit to reach Allah before death)! Obey Allah and His Messenger do not turn away from him (from Kor'an) while you hear him.

And don't be like those, who said they heard, when they didn't.

Surely, the worst animals for Allah are the deaf and dumb who are not mindful!

And if Allah knew (saw) the good in them (in the hearts of the deaf and dumb), then, of course, He would let them hear. But even if He let them hear, they will certainly turn away, for they are of those who turn away!

Oh, those who have become âmenû (wished to return their spirit to Allah), answer when Allah and His Messenger when he call you to that which gives you life. And know that, verily, Allah enters between a person and his heart, and that you will certainly be gathered to Him (the spirit of each of you will be gathered in Allah, and Allah will become a refuge for your spirit)!

And beware (be the owners of takwa with respect to) a test that shall befall not only those of you who are tyrants (but also those who do not have this characteristics). And know that, verily, Allah's punishment is very severe!

And remember: you were few and weak on earth, and you were afraid that people would seize you. But He (Allah) gave you refuge, and supported you with His help, and endowed you of the good and clean things that you may give thanks.

O you who believe (who wish to reach their spirit to Allah before death)! Do not betray Allah and His Messenger, and you betray knowingly your trusts too.

And know that your possessions and your children are a test. And that surely with Allah is a Mightiest Reward (Ecrun Azîm).

O you who âmenû! If you become the owner of piety towards Allah, then He gives you with Furqân (that is discernment with which help the ability to distinguish between right from falsehood), and will cover your sins for you, and replace your sins with good. And Allah is the Owner of the Light and of greatest Generosity!

And the deniers built a trap for you to detain you, or kill you, or exile you. And while they were building a trap, Allah was also building a trap. And Allah is the Best of those who build a trap (in response to them)!

And when Our Verses are recited to them, they said: “We have heard If we wished we could say the like of this. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients”.

And they had said: “O Allah! If this (the Qur’ân) is indeed the truth (the Book) from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring on us the painful torment”.

And Allah would not punish them while you were among them. Allah will not punish them (either) while yet they ask for forgiveness.

And why should not Allah torment them while they hinder from Al- Masjid-Al-Haram and they are not (Allah’s) Friends? His Friends are only the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) and but most of them do not know.

And their prayer before the House (of Allah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Taste then the torment because of what you used to deny.

Surely those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder from the Way of Allah. So, they shall spend it (their wealth), after it shall be to them an intense regret. Then they will be overcome (they will lose). And those who disbelieve will be gathered to Hell.

This is for Allah to separate the impure from the clean, and put the impure upon each other, and pile it up together, then cast it into Hell. These it is that are the losers.

Say to those who disbelieve: “If you desist, that which is past (sins) shall be replaced with good”. And if they return (to disbelief and enmity), then will be fulfilled the law of the ancients (the law of Allah which was once applied to unbelievers, to those who disobeyed)".

And fight them until iniquity is gone and until all religion is for Allah. If they refuse (from disbelief), then surely, Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.

And if they turn away, know that Allah is your Friend! What a wonderful Friend and what an Excellent Helper!

And know that when you capture any of the trophies of war, then, verily, one fifth of them belongs to Allah and the Messenger, and his relatives, and orphans, and the poor, and travelers, if you believe in Allah and into what We sent down to Our servant on the day of Discernment (of right from falsehood), on the day when two groups met. And Allah is Almighty!

You were on the near bank of the valley (on the Madîna side) and they were on the farther side (on the Makkah side), and the caravan was in a lower place than you. And if you had an agreement, you would certainly have broken away from the appointment. But that Allah might bring about a matter (order) which was to be done, that those who perished would perish upon evidence and those who lived would live upon evidence. And most surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Allah showed them to you in your dream as few. And if He had shown them to you as many, you would certainly have become weak-hearted and you would have disputed about the matter. But Allah saved (you). Surely Allah is the All-Knowing of what is in the breasts.

And He showed them to you as few in your eyes, when you collided them, and He made you to appear little in their eyes, so that the affairs (orders) of Allah, which must be fulfilled, would be done. And to Allah are all affairs (Orders) returned.

O you who who are âmenû (who are true believers)! When you collided a party (an enemy force), then be patient and praise (repeat the Name of Allah) much, that you may have Salvation.

And be patient, surely Allah is with the patient. And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not fall into disagreement, otherwise you will weaken and your strength will leave you.

And be not like those who come forth from their homes boastfully and to be seen by people, and avert (others) from the Way of Allah. And Allah is encompassing of what they do.

And Satan had embellished their deeds. And said: “No one of the men can overcome you this day. And verily, I am your ally (helper)”. But when the two parties came in sight of each other, he turned upon his two heels, and said: “Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Surely, I see what you do not see. Verily I fear Allah. And Allah is Severe in punishment”.

The hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease were saying: “Their own religion has deceived these”. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then surely Allah is Majestic, All-Wise.

And if you had seen when the angels cause to die those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs and (saying): “Taste the torment of burning”.

This is because of that which your hands have put forth (What you have done on your own). And verily Allah is not ever unjust to His servants.

In the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those before them; they denied in Allah’s Verses. Therefore, Allah took them on account of their sins. Surely Allah is All-Strong, Severe in punishment.

This is because Allah never changes the bestowed He has bestowed on any people until they change what is with them. And verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

(Their) state (the Quraish tribe that was fighting at Badr) is as the state of Pharaoh (his army) and those before them. They belied the Verses of their Lord. Therefore, We destroyed them because of their sins. And We drowned the people (army) of Pharaoh. And they all became tyrants.

Surely the worst of animals (that walk) in Allah’s Sight are those who deny. Then they will not believe.

They are those with whom you made a covenant, but they break their covenant every time. And they are not the owners of takwa (spiritual armor).

Therefore if you overtake them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that perhaps they may deliberate.

If you fear treachery (of covenant) on the part of a people, then cancel their covenant on terms of equality. Surely Allah does not love the treacherous.

Let not those who disbelieve assume that they are saved. Assuredly, they cannot render (Allah) impotent.

And prepare against them what force you can and bridled horses (fed for war). Thereby you may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them. You do not know them but Allah knows them. Whatever thing you spend in the Way of Allah, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be wronged.

And if they incline to peace, then (you also) incline to it (accept their offer) and put your trust in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

And if they want to deceive you, then surely Allah is All-Sufficient for you. He it is Who supports you and the believers with His help.

And He has united their hearts (with love). If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts. And but Allah has united them. Certainly, He is Majestic, All-Wise.

O Prophet! Allah is sufficient for you and those of the believers who obeyed you.

O Prophet! Encourage the believers to battle. If there are twenty patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred. And if there are a hundred of you, they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand.

Now, Allah has lightened for you (the severity of the battle), as He knew that in you is weakness. So, if there are a hundred patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand, they shall overcome two thousand by Allah’s Permission. And Allah is with the patient.

It is not (appropriate) for a Nebî (prophet) that he should take captives unless he has perfect triumphed definitely in the land. You desire the frail goods of the world, and Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is Majestic, All-Wise.

(Levh-i Mahfuz), surely a severe torment would have touched you for what (for ransom) you took.

Eat then of the good, clean and lawful things, which you have captured as a trophy. And have takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), Most Merciful (Sending light Rahmet).

O Nebî (Prophet)! Say to those of the captives who are in your hands: “If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give to you better than that which has been taken away from you and He will forgive you (replacing you sins with good)”. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), Most Merciful (Sending light Rahmet).

And if they would betray you, they indeed betrayed Allah before. So He gave (you) some means against them. And Allah is All- Knowing and All-Wise.

Verily those who are are âmenû (who wished to reach Allah before death) and emigrated and struggle on the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives) in the Way of Allah and those who gave shelter and helped (them), these are friends of one another. And you owe no duty of protection to them unless those who are âmenû (who wished to reach Allah before death) do not emigrate. But if they seek your help in religion, it is your duty to help them except against a people with whom you have a covenant (a treaty). And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.

And those who disbelieve, they are the friends to each other. If you do not do the same (if you do not become friends of one another) there will be in the land chaos and a great lawlessness.

And those who are amenu (who wished to return their spirits to Allah before death, and those who migrated, and those who struggled hard (with the enemies of Allah and their souls) on the Way of Allah, and those who sheltered and helped (the resettled), these are the true believers. For them is forgiveness (replacement of sins with good) and a generous proportion!

And those who from the âmenû (of those who wished to return their spirits to Allah before death) afterwards and emigrated and struggled hard (with the enemies of Allah and their souls) along with you (in the Way of Allah), they are of you. But kindred by blood (relatives) are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Knowing of everything.

8:75

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْ بَعْدُ وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا مَعَكُمْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مِنْكُمْ ۚ وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Vallazeena eamanoo min baa'du va heacaroo va ceahadoo maaakum fa uleaika minkum, va oolool arheami baa'duhum avlea bibaa'dın fee kiteabilleah(kiteabilleahi), innaalleaha bi kulli shay'in aaleem(aaleemun).
