The Moon

The Hour (of Judgment) has drawn near, and the moon has been split.

And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say: “This is continuous magic”.

And they belied and followed their low desires. And every affair had been decided.

And I swear, news has come to them wherein is deterrence (from evil deeds).

(This news is) clear wisdom, yet warnings did not benefit.

So withdraw from them. On that Day, the Caller will call (them) to something terrible.

They come forth from graves with terrified eyes as if they were scattered locusts.

The disbelievers will say, hastening to the Caller: “This is a difficult day”.

Before them the people of Noah also belied. So, they belied Our servant (Noah). They said: “A mad-man”. And causing him cruelty, they were prevented (from conveying the Message)

Finally he called upon his Lord: “Surely I have been overcome, therefore take vengeance.

To this We opened the gates of heaven to the noisily flowing water

and We has ejected the earth with fountains. Thus, the waters merged according to a command already decreed.

And We carried him on that which (the Ark) was made of a riveted (iron) plate.

(The Ark was) floating under Our Eyes as a reward for him (Noah) who was denied.

And certainly We left it (The Ark) as a Sign (proof). Yet, is there anyone who take heed (learn a lesson)?

Then how were My Warnings and Torment?

And certainly We have made the Qur’ân easy for Dhikr (the remembrance). Yet, is there anyone who will take heed (learn a lesson)?

Âd (people) also belied. Then how were My Warnings and Torment?

Surely We sent on them an evil omen (catastrophes), the wind (a furious very cold of harsh voice) that lasts throughout the day.

(Such a wind that) throwing people (in the air) who are torn away as if they were uprooted trunks of date-palms.

Then how were My Warnings and Torment?

And certainly We have made the Qur’ân easy for Dhikr (the remembrance). Yet is there anyone who take heed (learn a lesson)?

Thamûd (people) also belied the Warnings.

Then they said: “A human being from among us? Shall we depend on him? Most surely we shall in that case be indeed in Darkness and madness”.

Has the Dhikr (Reminder) been made to reach him from among us? Nay! He is an extravagant liar!

Tomorrow shall they know who the extravagant liar is.

Surely It is Us who sent the she-camel as a mischief (test) for them. So watch them (wait for their end) and be patient!

And inform them that the water (in town) is to be divided between (the camel and) them (they will drink in turns). All those who will drink will be ready when their turn comes.

After a while, they called their friends (they asked him to kill the camel). Upon that he hastened and slaughtered (her).

Then how were My Warnings and Torment?

Surely We sent upon them a single Cry (a dreadful sound-wave) so they became like the grinded dry herb.

And certainly We have made the Qur’ân easy for Dhikr (the remembrance). Yet is there anyone who take heed (learn a lesson)?

The people of Lot also belied the Warnings.

Surely We sent upon them a storm which destroyed. Except the family of Lot, We saved them a little before day-break.

As a Blessing from Our Presence, this is how We reward a person who gives thanks.

And Lot indeed warned them of “the seizure with Our severe torment”, but they did doubt these Warnings!

And they even asked insistently of him his guests for their evil act. Upon that We blinded their eyes. So taste My Warnings and My torment!

And certainly a continuous torment seized them in the morning. (39) So taste My Warnings and My torment!

So taste My Warnings and My torment!

And certainly We have made the Qur’ân easy for Dhikr (the remembrance), but is there anyone who take heed (learn a lesson)?

And certainly the Warnings also came to the family of Pharaoh.

They belied all Our Verses, so We Seized (destroyed) them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Powerful.

(O the inhabitants of Makkah!) Are your disbelievers better than those (people who belied), or is there an exoneration for you in the Heavenly Books?

Or do they say: “We are a group who help each other (invincible)?

Soon shall they be ruined, and they shall turn their backs (run away).

Nay, what (the torment) they are promised is that Hour (Doomsday), and that Hour is more grievous and more violent.

Surely the guilty are in Darkness and madness.

On that Day they are dragged upon their faces into the Fire. (They shall be told :) “Taste the touch of the Flame”!

Surely We have created everything with Destiny (predestined).

And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye.

And certainly We have destroyed the likes of you, yet is there anyone who take heed (learn a lesson)?

And everything they have done is in the (Heavenly) Books.

And everything, small and big, is written down.

Surely the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) are in paradise and by the Rivers,

At the post of ‘Sadik’ within the Presence of the Most Powerful King.

فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ

Fee maak’aadi sıdkın inda maleekin muktadir(muktadirin).
