The Star

By the star when it disappears.

Your owner has not fallen into Darkness nor turned extravagant.

And he does not speak out of his own whim–

only the Revelation that is revealed to him.

The one who is mighty and severe (Gabriel) has taught him.

He (Gabriel) is the possessor of strength and magnificence, who approached (to Muhammad S.A.S.)

And he (appeared) on the uppermost section of the horizon.

Then he approached and came down.

So he became at a distance of two bows length, or even closer.

So he (Gabriel) revealed what He had to reveal to His servant.

The consciousness of the heart (seeing with the eye of the soul: fuâd) did not deny what he saw (with the eyes of his spirit).

Or do you dispute with him as to what he saw?

And I swear, he also saw him (Gabriel) during another descent:

near the Sidrat-ul Muntaha (with a cedar tree at the end of all things).

Next to it (Sidrat-ul Muntaha) is Me’vâ paradise.

Enveloping the Cedar tree is that which envelops.

The sight did not waver nor exceeded the limit.

I swear, he did see (some) of the Greatest Signs of his Lord.

Have you seen (the idols) Al-Lât and Al-Uzzâ?

And (have you seen) the other, the third one (the idol), Manât?

Is it for you the sons and for Him the daughter?

If this is the case, indeed is an unfair division.

They (these names) are but names which you and your fathers have named. Allah has sent down for them no Sultan (proof). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their souls desire. And I swear, the Return (that is, the holy teacher) has come to them from their Lord.

Or is there for man only whatever he wishes?

But to Allah belongs the Before and After (this world and the Hereafter).

And how many angels are there in the heavens whose intercession does not avail at all except after Allah has given permission to whom He wills and is Pleased (the one who has achieved the Complete Consent and is under the control of Allah).

Most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter (in having their spirits reach Allah before death and in the Day of Resurrection) name the angels with female names.

And they have no knowledge (about angels). They only follow assumptions. And surely, assumptions are of no avail in towards the Truth (Allah).

Therefore withdraw from those who turn away from Our reminder (Dhikr i.e praise) and does not desire anything but the life of this world.

This is (only) what they can attain of knowledge. Surely your Lord that knows best him who goes astray from His Way and He knows best him who has returned (their spirit to Allah).

And for Allah is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, that He may punish those who do evil with that which they have done, and reward those who do good, with the best (Allah’s Person).

They are the ones that refrain from serious sins and the indecencies except the small ones. Surely your Lord is bountiful in replacing sins with good. He is the One Who knows you better. He had created you from the earth and you were embryos in the wombs of your mothers. So, (after deed a sin) do not justify your souls (do not assert that you have cleansed your souls). He (Allah) knows better who the owner of takwa (spiritual armor) is.

Did you see those who turned away (from Allah)?

And he gave a little, then stopped the rest (he was stingy)?

Is the knowledge of the Unseen with him and does he see?

Or, has he not been informed of what is in the Pages of Moses

and Abraham that he fulfilled (the Commandments of Allah)?

Truly no sinful bears the burden (sin) of another.

And for man there is nothing else, but to work.

And his work (deeds) will soon be considered.

Then its worth will be paid in full.

And the Return in the end is certainly to your Lord.

And surely it is He Who brings to laughter and to weeping.

And indeed it is He Who causes death and gives life.

And certainly He created male and female pairs (from all).

From a drop of when the semen is ejaculated.

And surely, the subsequent (second) resurrection belongs to Him.

And definitely He, it is He Who makes rich and wealthy.

And certainly He is the Lord of the (star) Sirius.

And surely, He destroyed the former (people) Âd

and Thamûd (as well). So, He did not render anyone permanent (He left no one behind).

And before (He destroyed) the people of Noah. Surely, they were more unjust and insolent.

And he (Gabriel, having raised it to heaven) plunged the city into the ground, turning it upside down.

And already it (that people) was covered by that which covered (torment), but what a covering!

Then which of the gifts of your Lord do you doubt?

This Warner is a Warner of the former Warners.

What draws near (Judgment Day), drew near.

There is none besides Allah to discover it.

Or did that word surprise you?

And you are laughing and not weeping.

And you are the ones indulged in amusement in heedlessness.

So prostrate yourselves before Allah and become servants (to Him)!

53:62

Al-Qamar

فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا ۩
