Sad

Sâd, by the Qur’ân, the owner of Praise (Dhikr).

Nay! Disbelievers are in pride and division.

How many generations did We destroy before them. Then they cried out, but the time of salvation had passed away.

And they marveled that a Warner from among themselves has come to them and the disbelievers said: “This is a lying sorcerer”.

Does he make the gods a single God? A strange thing is

And the notables of them departed (saying): “Go on! Remain patient (constant) to your gods! This is most surely a thing sought of you for sure.

We never heard of this (that all deities are actually one) in other religions. This is just a slander.

Has the Reminder (Dhikr) been sent down to him from among us?” Nay! They are in doubt about My Reminder (Dhikr)! Nay! They have not yet tasted My Torment!

Or are the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the Majestic, the All-Forgiving, All-Bestowing with them?

Or is the Dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by finding the means (the ways).

(They are) here a defeated army formed of the groups.

Before them belied (Verses of Allah), the people of Noah, and the people of Ad'a, and the pharaoh, the owner of stakes,

and the people of Thamûd, and the people Lot and the Dwellers of ‘Elke’; these were the (belied) groups too.

All of them only belied the Messengers. So My punishment was justified.

And they are not waiting for anything but a single a powerful sound-wave, from which there will be no other opportunity.

And they said: “Our Lord! Hasten on for us our portion before the Day of Reckoning”.

Be patient of what they say, and remember Our servant David, the possessor of power. He was certainly Evvâb (He had return his spirit to Allah).

Surely, We made the mountains subservient to him. They glorified (Us) with him at sunrise and nightfall,

and the birds gathered together (subservient to him too). They were all Evvâb (all had turned to Him and taken refuge in Him).

And We strengthened his dominion and We gave him wisdom and the art of oratory (the ability to address to audience and to judge with justice by distinguishing the truth from falsehood).

And has the news of the litigants come to you? They had made an entry into the Mihrab (David’s praying place) by climbing over the walls.

When they burst in upon David, he was frightened at them. “Do not fear! We are two litigants, of whom one has acted wrongfully towards the other. Therefore, decide between us with justice! Do not overstep the line (do not be unjust)! Make us reach the middle course (the just solution).

Surely this is my brother. He has ninety-nine sheep and I have a single sheep. Yet he said: “Give that to me too”, and he has prevailed against me in speech”.

He (Davud A.S.) said: "I swear, that he acted unfairly towards you, wishing to add your sheep to his." And surely, most of the accomplices (co-owners) act unfairly towards each other, except for those who became amenu (wished to return the spirit of Allah while they are alive) and those who do a righteous (cleansing the soul) deed. But how few there are! And Davud (AS) supposition, that We put him to the test, and asked for forgiveness from his Lord and fell down prostrate, and turned (with a speech) to his Lord (and seeing Him, received an answer).

Therefore We forgave him (replaced his sins with good in this matter). Most surely he has a high rank in Our Presence and an excellent refuge.

O David! Surely, We have made you a vicegerent in the earth. So rule between mankind with justice and do not follow the low desires (the soul) lest it should lead you astray from the Way of Allah. As for those who go astray from the Way of Allah, there is for them a severe torment because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.

And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain. This is the supposition of the deniers. Then woe to those who deniers, on account of Fire (since their will be tormented).

Will We equate those who have become believe (âmenû, which wished to return the spirit to Allah before death) and those who do a righteous (the soul’s cleansing) deed with those who do lawlessness on earth, or do We equate the owners of piety with evil people (with people who will go to Hell)?

We have sent down to you this Blessed Book so that they may deliberate with its Verses about their end and may interpret Ulûl'elbab (the owners of secrets divine treasures and eternal praise).

And We bestowed on David, his son Solomon. How excellent servant! Surely, he was Evvâb (He had returned spirit to Allah befor die).

There were brought to him in the evening thoroughly bred horses ready to run.

Then he said: “Surely I love (them) with the love of goodness (with the love of those who have attained to eternal praise) because I praise (repeat the Name of) my Lord”. And they disappeared behind a (dusty) curtain.

(Solomon said:) “Bring them (horses) back to me”. So he began to caress their legs and necks.

And I swear, that We tested Solomon. And placed his body (corpse) on his throne. Then he turned (have moved the corpse in space and time).

He said: “My Lord! Forgive (replace my sins with good) me and bestow upon me a dominion which cannot be attained by anyone else after me. Verily, you are the Bestower.

Upon that We made the wind subservient to him. By his command, it would go where ever he desired blowing gently,

and all the devils, who were builders and divers,

and the others (too), chained to each other.

These are Our gifts. So, to whom you wish, give to him without a reckoning or do not give it.

And most surely, he has a high rank in Our Presence and an excellent refuge.

And remember Our servant Job (Ayyûb). He had called upon his Lord, saying: “Verily, Satan had distress and torment touched me”.

Strike (the ground) with your foot. Here is a cool water to wash and drink.

And We bestowed on Him his family and as many with them, as a mercy from Us and as a communication (with Allah) for Ulûl'elbab (for those who have eternal praise, owners of the secret divine treasures).

And (O, Job) take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike with it and do not break your oath. Surely, We found him patient. What an excellent servant he was! Surely, he was Evvâb (he had submitted his spirit to Allah before death).

And remember Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, men of power and vision (soul's).

Surely, We have made them the Owners of Ihlâs, who remembering the last abode, being Muhlasîn (slaves, who have utterly pure d themselves from all vices of the soul).

And surely, they are verily from among the chosen and best with Us!

And remember Ishmael, Elisha (Alyasa) and Isaiah (Dhu’l Kifl). They were all of the best.

This is a Reminder (the Holy Qur’ân). And most surely there is indeed the Best Refuge (the Esence of Allah) for the owners of takwa (spiritual armor).

There are paradises of Eden whose doors are opened for them.

Reclining therein, they (the owners takwa) ask for many fruits and drink.

And next to them will be their peers, hiding their views (looking only at their husbands).

This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning.

Most surely this is Our endless provision.

This (is the state of those who are in paradise). And surely, for tyrants, of course, the evil refuge (place) –

Hell; they enter it. What a terrible bed that is!

This (is the state of those who are in hell), so let them taste the boiling water and pus,

and another double torment of a similar kind.

This is a group will also endure (the torment) along with you. No greeting for them. Surely, they are the ones who will enter the Fire.

They (their followers) said: “Nay! In reality there is no greeting to you. You offered it to us (you became the cause of our torment). Now how evil abode this is (hell).

They said: “Our Lord, whoever offered this to us (whoever has caused us to come here) add to him repeatedly torment in the Fire”!

And (those who are in Hell) said: “Why do we not see (here in hell) those whom we used to count among the worst ones?

We took them as an object of mockery. Or have (our) eyes glided from them (that we could not see them)?”

Verily the mutual dispute of the inmates of the Fire is the very truth.

Say: “I am only a Warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Destroyer.

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them is the Majestic, the Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good)”.

Say: “That (Qur’ân) is great news.

You are the ones who turn aside from it.

I had no knowledge when they were arguing at the Mele’il A’lâ (in the Highest Assembly of Angels).

It is being revealed unto me that I am only a clear Warner”.

Your Lord had said to the angels: “Surely I am going to create a human being from clay (out of damp soil).

So when I design him and breathe into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him, prostrating!”

Upon that all the angels prostrated themselves,

except Iblîs (Satan) that he became haughty and he has been one of the disbelievers (one of the deniers).

(Allah) said: “O Iblîs (Satan)! What prevented you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with My Hands (with My Power)? You got arrogant! Or are you one of the high exalted ones”?

(Iblîs) said: “I am better than he. You have created me of fire and You created him of clay”.

(Allah) said: “Then get out of it (paradise)! Now surely you are an outcast.

And surely My Curse is on you until the Day of the Religion”.

(Iblîs) said: “My Lord, then respite me to the Day when they are raised”.

(Allah) said: “Surely you are of the respited ones

till the Day of the time known”.

(Iblîs) said: “Then, i swear by Your Might, I will surely seduce them all,

except Your (all) Muhlasîn Servants from among them”.

(Allah) said: “This is indeed the truth and I speak the truth.

I will most certainly fill hell with you and with all those among them who follow you”.

Say: “I do not ask you for any reward for it (for my conveying of the Message), nor am I of those who impose the duties.

It (the Qur’an) is only a Reminder (Dhikr) for the Worlds.

And most certainly you will come to know its news (Qur’an news) after a while”.

38:1
