The Mount

By the Mount Tur (Sinai).

And the Book written line by line,

which in it (in that book) the writings are spread in pages.

And by Al-Baitul Ma’mûr (the House that is built up),

by the elevated ceiling (of the earth),

by the full sea,

most surely the Torment of your Lord will take place.

There is none to avert it (the torment).

On that Day the sky shakes with a dreadful swaying

and the mountains go into motion.

Then woe on the Day (of Permission) to the beliers,

who keep themselves busy with unnecessary things.

That Day they will be thrown in to the Fire being dragged.

This is the Fire which you belied.

Is this magic or do you not see?

Prop yourselves against it (Fire). Now whether you are patient or impatient, it is all the same for you. You only get punished for what you did.

Surely the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) are in paradises and blessings.

Joyous with what their Lord has given them and their Lord saved them from the Torment of the blazing Fire (hell).

Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you did.

They (the owners of takwa (spiritual armor)) are) the ones reclined on thrones lined up and We married them to Hûrin (ladies of heaven) with beautiful eyes.

And to the offspring of those who became amenu (to those who, having initially wished to return the spirit of Allah during their lifetime, eventually became owners of the post of the Religious Guide), We joined (made Religious Guides) and the offspring of those who obeyed them (Religious Guides) with faith. And We did not decrease any of their deeds. Every person is a hostage for what he has earned (in degrees).

And We gave them (with) fruit and meat they desired.

They raise a cup therein where they do not say anything in vain nor commit any sin (from this wine).

And around them will be serving them youths, like hidden pearls in a shell.

And they ask each other.

They said: "Surely, when we before be along with our family, we were afraid,

now, Allah Blessed us and saved us from the torment of the scorching heat (of Hell).

Surely, we were praying upon Him (Allah) before. Surely, He is Berr (The Most Courteous, the Most Generous), the Most Merciful (the One Who acts Himself with His Name of Most Merciful)”.

Therefore remind (give advice), because by the Blessing of your Lord, you are neither an oracle nor a madman.

Or do they say: “He is a poet; we wait for him the sudden coming of the calamity of the time”.

Say: “Wait, I am too with you of those who wait”.

Or do their minds command them this? Or are they an inordinate people?

Or do they say: “He has forged and said it by himself”? Nay, they do not believe.

Then let them bring a speech (verse of the Quran) like it, if they are truthful.

Or were they created without there being anything (without any Creator)? Or are they themselves the creators?

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they cannot firmly believe (in Allah).

Or do they have the treasures of your Lord? Or do they have them?

Or are there ladders to listen to (the conversations)? Then let the listeners bring a clear proof.

Or are the daughters His and the sons yours?

Or do you ask them for a reward, so they are overburdened by a debt?

Or that the Unseen is with them, and they write it down?

Or do they want to set a trap? But those disbelieve will fall into the trap themselves.

Or do have they deities other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they associate with Him!

And if they were to see a piece of the sky falling down, they would say: “Piled up clouds”.

Leave them then till they meet the Day of theirs wherein they will ruin with a powerful sound wave.

On that Day their trap will not avail them at all nor will they be helped.

And surely, for those who do tyrants, there is another torment besides this, but most of them do not know.

So be patient with the Judgment of your Lord. Because certainly you are before Our Eyes. And glorify your Lord with praise when you get up (for prayer).

And in the part of night glorify Him and also at the setting of the stars.

52:1

وَالطُّورِ
