Ash-Shu'ara Verse 227 - The tyrants will soon know to which place of return

The Poets

Tâ-Sîn-Mîm.

These are the Verses of Kitab-ı Mübin (the manifest Book).

You will almost ruin yourself with grief because they do not become believers.

If We willed, We would send down upon them a Verse from the heaven so that it would overshadow their necks (get them under its control) that they would obey it.

And there does not come to them a new Order from the Most-Beneficent so that they would not turn aside from it.

So they have belied, but the news of what they had mocked at will come to them.

Do they not see the earth that how many (plants) of every pair We have caused to grow in it?

Most surely there is a Sign in that, and (but) most of them did not become believers.

And surely your Lord is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One acting with His Name Mercy).

And your Lord had called out to Moses to go to the cruel nation.

Will the nation of Pharaoh (still) not be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor)?

(Moses) said: “My Lord! Surely, I fear that they will belie me

and my chest straitens and my tongue does not turn. Therefore send (Gabriel to) Aaron.

And for them I am a sinner, therefore I fear that theykill me”.

(Allah) said: “Nay, so go (you both) with our Verses! Surely We are the hearing Ones with you.

Go ahead to Pharaoh (together) and tell him: “Surely we are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.

Send with us the Son’s of Israel!”

(Pharaoh) said: “Did we not bring you up as a child among us? And did you not dwell many years of your life among us?

And you did the deed of yours which you did (you committed a murder), and you are of the disbelievers”.

Moses said: “I did it then, when I was of those who were in Darkness.

Then I fled from you as I feared you. But my Lord has granted me wisdom and has made me of the Messengers,

and this mercy which You (my Lord) bestowed upon me is that You have made the sons of Israel a slave."

(Pharaoh) said: “What is the Lord of the Worlds”?

(Moses) said: “The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you could believe”.

(Pharaoh) said to those around him: “Do you not hear”?

(Moses) said: “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers”.

(Pharaoh) said: “Most surely your Messenger who has been sent to you is truly mad (insane)”.

(Moses) said: “The Lord of the east and the west and all that is between them, if you use your mind”.

(Pharaoh) said: “If you take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned”.

(Moses) said: “Even if I bring to you something manifest”?

(Pharaoh) said: “Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones”.

So Moses flung down his staff and it became an obvious serpent.

And he drew forth his hand, and it was white (radiant) to the onlookers.

(Pharaoh) said to the elites around him: “Most surely this is indeed a well- versed sorcerer.

He wants to drive you out of your land with his magic. So, what is it then that you command?”

They said: “Put him off and his brother, and send into the cities gatherers,

that they may bring to you all skillful magicians”.

So the magicians were gathered together at the appointed time on a fixed day.

And it was said to the people: “Did you gather”?

We follow the magicians if they are victorious.

When the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh: “Shall we get a reward if we are the winners”?

(Pharaoh) said: “Yes, you will then surely be of those brought near (to myself)”.

(Moses) said to them: “Cast what you are going to cast”.

So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: “By Pharaoh’s majesty, we shall most surely be victorious”.

Then Moses cast down his staff and it (his staff) was swallowing up what they fabricated.

The magicians immediately were thrown down prostrating.

They said: “We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,

in the Lord of Moses and Aaron”.

(Pharaoh) said: “You believe in him before I give you permission. Most surely, he is the chief (master) of you who taught you the magic, so you shall know soon. Certainly, I will have your hands and your feet cut off on opposite sides, and certainly I will have you all hung”.

They said: “It does not matter. Surely we are the ones to return to our Lord”.

Surely, we hope (ask) that our Lord will forgive us our faults because we are the first of the believers.

And We revealed to Moses (saying): “Take off with My servants by night, surely you will be pursued”.

Upon that Pharaoh sent gatherers (an army) into the cities.

Surely these are but a small group (in number)

and surely, they have indeed enraged us,

and surely, we are a feared group.

So, We took them (Pharaoh and his people) away from gardens and water- springs,

and from treasures and every kind of honorable stations.

Thus did We cause the Son’s of Israel to inherit them (their land).

Then they started pursuing them towards the east (towards the Red sea).

When the two groups saw each other, the Companions of Moses said: “Verily they are about to reach us”.

(Moses) said: “By no means; surely my Lord is with me. He will Salvation me (and you from enemies)”.

Then We revealed to Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff”. Immediately the sea opened up (split and parted) and each piece became like a huge mountain.

Then We brought the others near there (Pharaoh and his army).

And We saved Moses and those with him all.

Then We drowned the others (in the sea).

Surely there is a Sign in this, (but) most of them did not become believers.

And surely your Lord, He is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (The One Who acting Himself with the Name of Most Merciful).

And recite to them the news of Abraham.

He had said to his father and his people: “What is it that you worship”?

They said: “We worship idols, and we always serve to them”.

(Abraham) said: “Do they hear you when you call on them

or do they benefit you or cause you harm?”

They said: “Nay, We found our fathers doing (worshipping) so”.

(Abraham) said: “Have you then seen, what you have been worshipping

you and your forefathers (have been worshipping)?

Surely, they are enemies to me, but not the Lord of the Worlds,

Who has created me and Return me (submitted my spirit, bodi, soul, will and mind Himself),

and Who feeds me and gives me to drink,

and when I become sick, He is the One who gives me the cure,

and Who will kill me and then resurrect me,

and Who, I ardently hope, replace my sin with good for my mistakes on the Day of Religion (on the day of my obedience to Gabriel).

My Lord! Bestow Wisdom on me and join me with the Sâlihîn (Righteous ones)

and ensure a good word about me among future generations,

and grant me, making of the inheritors the Paradise (Eden),

and forgive my father; surely, he is of those who have remained in Darkness.

And do not grieve me on the Day of resurrection

on a day when neither wealth nor children will do any benefit,

except those who come to Allah with a submitted heart”.

And paradise brought near for those who are the owners of takwa (spiritual armor).

And hell was clearly shown to tyrants!

And it was said to them: “Where are those that you used to worship,

besides Allah? Can they (your deities) help you or yet help themselves”?

They (idol worshippers) and the tyrants are thrown on their faces (as their noses rubbed against the ground) therein (in hell),

and all of the army of Iblîs (Satan).

And there they (the idols and idolaters), being enemies (among themselves), said:

“By Allah! We were certainly in manifest Darkness,

when they equal you (idols) with the Lord of the Worlds.

And none but the guilty ones (those who prevented from Return) have left us in Darkness.

So for us there is not an intercessor,

101

nor a true friend.

102

If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we would be of the believers”.

103

Surely there is a Sign in this, but (in spite of this) most of them did not become a believer.

104

And surely your Lord, is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One that acting with His Name Mercy).

105

The people of Noah rejected the Messengers.

106

Their brother Noah had said to them: “Do you not become the owner of takwa (spiritual armor)?

107

Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.

108

Therefore be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah (wish to reach Allah) and obey me.

109

And I do not ask you any reward for it (for my conveying the Message). My reward is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

110

So be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah (wish to reach Allah) and obey me”.

111

They said: “Shall we believe in you, when the simplest of the people follow you”?

112

He said: “I have no knowledge of what they used to do.

113

Their reckoning is only with my Lord, if you could perceive.

114

And I am not the one to drive away the believers.

115

I am only an evident Warner”.

116

They said: “O Noah! If you do not stop (warning us), you shall most certainly be of those stoned”.

117

Noah said: “My Lord! Surely my people belied me!

118

So, separate me from them, so that You save me and those of the believers who are with me."

119

So, We saved him and those who were with him in the loaded Ark.

120

Then, after this, We drowned those who remained (those who did not sit in the ark).

121

Surely there is a Sign in this, yet most of them did not become believers (did not wish to reach Allah).

122

And surely your Lord, He is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One that acting with His Name Mercy).

123

The tribe of Âd belied the sent Messengers.

124

Their brother Hûd had said to them: “Will you not become the owners of takwa (you will not wish to return the spirit to Allah)?

125

Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.

126

Therefore be the owners of takwa (wish to return the spirit of Allah) towards Allah (wish their spirits to reach Allah before death) and obey me.

127

And I do not ask you any reward for it (for the exhortation), surely my reward reward is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

128

Do you build on every height a monument, by exerting yourselves in vain?

129

Are you erecting buildings on high hills in vain?

130

And when you captured (people), you captured them with violence.

131

So be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah (wish their spirits to reach Allahwhile you are living) and obey me.

132

Be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Him (wish to reach Allah) who helps you with the things that you know (with what He has taught you):

133

He has aided you with animals and sons,

134

and with gardens and water springs…

135

Surely I fear the Torment of a Great Day (the Doomsday) to be upon you”.

136

They said: “It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers –

137

this is no other than the fabrications of the ancients

138

and we will not be tormented”.

139

So they belied him. Therefore, We ruined them. Surely, there is indeed a Sign in this, yet most of them did not become believers (did not wish to reach Allah).

140

And surely your Lord, He is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One that acting with His Name Mercy).

141

(The tribe of) Thamûd also belied the Messengers.

142

Their brother Sâlih had also said to them: “Will you not become the owners of takwa (you will not wish to return the spirit of Allah)?

143

Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.

144

Therefore be the owners of takwa (wish to return the spirit of Allah) towards Allah (wish their spirits to reach Allahbefore death) and obey me.

145

And I ask of you no reward for that (exhortation). My reward is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

146

Will they leave you secure here:

147

in gardens and water-springs,

148

and tilled fields and bloomed palm-trees,

149

skillfully carving in the mountains at home?

150

So be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah (wish their spirits to reach Allah while you are living) and obey me

151

and do not obey the command of the unbridled,

152

who make lawlessness on earth, and do not correction (others to cleansing their souls)”.

153

They said: “You are only of the bewitched.

154

You are nothing but a human being like us. So, bring a Sign (a Verse) if you are of the truthful”.

155

(Sâlih) said: “This is a she-camel. She has the right to drink water, and you have a right to drink water on appointed days.

156

And do not touch her with evil, otherwise the torment of a Greatest Day will overtake you”.

157

Nevertheless they slaughtered her, then they became regretful.

158

So the torment overtook them. Most surely there is a Sign (a lesson) in this, and most of them did not become believers (didn’t wish to return the spirit of Allah).

159

And most surely your Lord, He is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One Who acting with the Name of the Most Merciful).

160

The people of Lot (Lût) belied the Messengers (too).

161

Their brother Lot had also said to them: “Will you not be the owners of takwa (you will not wish to return the spirit of Allah)?

162

Surely, I am a truthful Messenger to you.

163

Therefore be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah (wish their spirits to reach Allahbefore death) and obey me.

164

And I ask of you no reward for that (exhortation of the Message). My reward is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

165

Are you going (approaching) to the men of the worlds (mankind)

166

and leave what your wives whom your Lord has created for you? Nay, you are wicked people."

167

They said: “O Lot! If you do not stop (warning us), you shall surely be of those who are expelled”.

168

He said: “Surely, your deed seems disgusting to me.

169

My Lord! Save me and my family (my followers) from what they do”.

170

Upon that We saved him and his followers (his family, his followers) all,

171

except an old woman (Lot’s wife), among those who remained behind.

172

Then we utterly destroyed the others

173

and rained (destroying) rain on them. How terrible this rain was for those who were warned!

174

Surely there is a Sign in this, and most of them did not become believers (you will not wish to return the spirit of Allah).

175

And most surely your Lord, He is surely the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One that acting with His Name Mercy).

176

The dwellers of Ayka (also) belied the Messengers.

177

Shu’aib had said to them: “Will you not be the owners of takwa (you will not wish to return the spirit of Allah)?

178

Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.

179

Therefore be the owners of takwa (wish to return the spirit to Allah before death) towards Allah and obey me.

180

And I ask of you no reward for it (for exhortation of the Message to you). My reward is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

181

Weigh the measure correctly (do not lower the scales to the negative side) and be not of those who lost (of those who enter their souls into losing degrees).

182

Weigh with the measure of those who are upon a direction (those who wish their spirits to reach Allah and have more positives than negatives).

183

And do not reducing people their things (do not cause their positive degrees to be less than their negative degrees by hindering them from making the wish to reach Allah) and (based on this) do not cause disorder in the earth, spreading lawlessness.

184

And be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor, wish to reach Allah) towards Whom, Who created you and the former nations”.

185

They said: “You are only of the bewitched.

186

And you are but a human being like us, and we deem you of the liars.

187

So cause a portion of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful”.

188

(Shu’aib) said: “My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do”.

189

But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow seized them. Indeed that was the torment of a Greatest Day.

190

Surely there is a clear Sign in this, yet most of them did not become believers (they did not wish their spirits to reach Allah before death).

191

And most surely your Lord, He is truly the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One that acting with His Name Mercy).

192

And surely it (the Qur’ân) has been sent down by the Lord of the Worlds.

193

The Trustworthy Spirit (Gabriel) has brought it down

194

into your heart that you may be of the Warners

195

in clear Arabic language.

196

And surely, he (the Qur’ân) is in the previous Pages (in the Books)

197

Is it not a proof to them that the learned men of the Sons of Israel to know that (the Qur’ân)?

198

And if We had sent it down to some of the foreigners (non-Arabs),

199

so that he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it (they would not have become believers, they would not have wished to reach Allah before death).

200

Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty.

201

They do not believe in it until they see the painful torment (they would not become believers, they would not wish to reach Allah).

202

And it (the torment) comes to them all of a sudden, and they would not know.

203

Then they said: “Will we be granted a reprieve”?

204

Do they hasten on Our torment?

205

Did you see? Even if We provide them for years (they will still not be able to be happy).

206

Then there came to them (torment) which they were promised.

207

What they were provided with shall not avail them.

208

And We did not destroy any town until they had Warners.

209

Remember that We have never been unjust.

210

And it is not satans who have brought it (the Qur’ân) down.

211

It is not suitable for them, nor is it in their power.

212

Most surely, they are absolutely forbidden from hearing of it (revelation).

213

So do not call upon another god with Allah lest you should be of those who are tormented.

214

And warn your nearest kindred.

215

And open your wings unto those of the believers who have obeyed you.

216

they rebel against you, then say: “Surely I am far of what you do”.

217

And put your trust in the Majestic, the Most Merciful (the One who acting with the Name of the Most Merciful),

218

Who sees you when you stand up (to pray)

219

and (also sees) your turning over among those who prostrate themselves.

220

Surely He, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

221

Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?

222

They descend upon every lying (slandering), sinful one.

223

They (listen) give ear (to the devils), and most of them are liars.

224

And as to the poets (who are against Allah) the deviating ones follow them.

225

Do you not see, how they wander through all the valleys (for fancies)

226

and they surely say that which they do not do.?

227

The tyrants will soon know to which place of return (hell) they will be returned, with the exception of those who become amenu (wish to return the spirit to Allah before death), and those who perform a righteous deed (purify their souls), and those who much praise Allah, and those who received help (from Allah) after they were oppressed.

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَانْتَصَرُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنْقَلَبٍ يَنْقَلِبُونَ

Illallazeena eamanoo va aamilus sealiheati va zakaroolleaha kaseeraan vantasaaroo min baa’di mea zulimoo, va sa yaa’lamullazeena zaalamoo ayya munkaalabin yankaaliboon(yankaaliboona).
