Al-Mumtahinah Verse 13 - O you whoa are amenu who wish their spirits

She That Is Examined

O you who are amenu (who wish their spirits to reach Allah before death)! Do not take my and your enemies for friends! And although they have denied what has come to you from the Truth, you still love them (treating them as your friends). They are driving out the Messenger and yourselves from your land because you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you go forth to struggle hard in My Way, seeking My Pleasure, (then why) you manifest love to them and share with them your secrets. And I know what you conceal and what you manifest. And whoever of you does that, then he indeed has gone astray from the true Way.

If they seize you, they become your enemy. And extend their hands and their tongues towards you with harm. And they desired for you that “you should have denied”.

On the Day of Resurrection your relatives your children will never avail you. He will separate between you (and them). And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

Indeed Abraham and those with him had been an excellent example for you. They had said to their people: “We are certainly far from you and what you worship besides Allah, we deny you. And until you believe in Allah Alone, enmity and resentment have begun between us and you forever”. Except the statement of Abraham to his father: “Verily, I will ask forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to prevent anything that would come to you from Allah. Our Lord! In You we put our trust, and to You we turned. And to You is the return”.

Our Lord! Do not make us a trial for the disbelievers! And replace our sins for good, our Lord. Surely You, You are the Majestic, the All-Wise.

I swear that for you and for those who wished Allah (reach their spirits to Allah) and the Last Day in them (in St. Ibrahim, in his sons and in those who were with him) there is an excellent example. And whoever turns away, then verily, Allah is All-Rich, the Most Praised.

It is hoped that Allah shall bring about friendship between you and those whom you hold to be your enemies among them. And Allah is All-Powerful (Omnipotent). And Allah is Oft-Forgiving (replaces your sins with good), Most Merciful (the One Who manifests with His Merciful Attribute).

Allah does not forbid you from dealing justly and kindly with those who did not fight against you in the matter of religion nor drove you out of your land. Surely Allah loves the doers of justice (those who deal with equity).

But Allah forbids you from turning to (befriending) those who fought against you on account of religion, and drove you forth from your land and supported your expulsion, that you may turn to (make friends with) them. And whoever turns to (make friends with) them, they are the tyrants.

O you who are âmenû! When believing women come to you as emigrants, test them (ask their reason of emigration). Allah best knows their faith. Then if you know (ascertain) that they are believers, do not send them back to the disbelievers. They (believing women) are not lawful to the others (disbelieving men). The others (disbelieving men) are not lawful for them (believing women) either. Give them (to the disbelieving men) what they have spent (for the believing women as “bride price”). And there will be no sin upon you to marry them if you have paid their bride price” (Bridal money given by the husband) to them. And do not hold to the ties of marriage of disbelieving women. And ask for what you have spent (as bride price). And let them ask for what they have spent as well. This is the ruling of Allah. He has been ruling between you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise (Owner of Judgment).

And if anything (bride price) has passed away from you to the disbelievers because of your wives (if the disbelievers do not give the bride price to the women that come to you after divorcing them), then when your turn comes, you give (bride price) to those whose wives have gone away (to the disbelievers) the like of what they have spent (from the booty you received), and you be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah in Whom you believe!

O Prophet! When believing women come to you to give you a pledge, accepting that they will not associate anything with Allah and will not steal, and will not commit adultery, and will not kill their children, and will not bring a slander which they have forged between their hands and their feet, and will not disobey you in what is good, accept their pledge and ask replacement of sins with good for them from Allah. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), Most Merciful (the One Who manifests with His Mercy Attribute).

O you whoa are amenu (who wish their spirits to reach Allah before death)! Do not turn to (do not make friends with) a people who incurred the Wrath of Allah (held from His Mercy). Indeed, they have despaired of the Hereafter (they do not believe in life after death) as the disbelievers have despaired of those who are in graves (that they will not be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection).

60:13

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَوَلَّوْا قَوْمًا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَدْ يَئِسُوا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ كَمَا يَئِسَ الْكُفَّارُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْقُبُورِ

Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo lea tatavallav kaavman gaadıbaalleahu aalayhim kaad yaisoo minal eahirati kamea yaisal kuffearu min aasheabil kuboor(kuboori).
