Al-Ahzab Verse 1 - Be the owners of takwa spiritual armor towards Allah

The Combined Forces

O Prophet! Be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Surely Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All- Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgment).

And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

And put your trust in Allah and Allah is Sufficient as a Surrogate.

Allah has not made (created) two hearts in chest of human nor has He made your wives whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers as your mothers (claiming this in order to divorce them), nor has He made your adopted sons your real sons. These are but the statements in your mouths. And Allah speaks the truth, and He guides to the Way (leading to Himself).

Call them (your adopted children) by the names of their fathers. This is more just with Allah. If you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends. And there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (there is blame concerning) that which your hearts have you do intentionally, and Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), the Most Merciful (the One acting Himself with His Name of Most Merciful).

The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own souls and his wives are their mothers, and the owners of kinship (relatives) are closer one to other in the Book of Allah than believers and the Emigrants. Except that you do good to your friends. These are written in the Book, line by line.

And We had taken from the Prophets their Covenants. And from you, and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, son of Mary, We took from them a strong covenant,

that He may question the loyal of their loyalty and He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment.

O you who believe (who wish their spirits to reach Allah before death)! Remember Allah’s Gift upon you. There had come down upon you armies. Then We sent against them a strong wind and armies that you could not see, and Allah is Ever All-Seeing of what you do.

When they attacked upon you from above and from below you, and when the eyes were discouraged (from the multitude of the enemy) and the hearts rose up to the throats (from fear), and you began to build conjectures (assumptions) against Allah.

There, the believers were tried and shaken with a mighty shaking.

And the disbelievers and those in whose hearts was a disease (doubt) were saying: “Allah and His Messenger did not promise anything but pride (deception)”.

And a party of them said: “O people of Yathrib (Al-Madinah)! There is no place to stand for you (here), therefore turn back”! And (another) party of them was asking permission of the Prophet, saying: “Surely our houses are without protection”. And they were not without protection but they were just wishing to flee (from the battle).

And if upon they were attacked from all sides (of the city), and then they would asked lawlessness from them, then they would certainly go for it (would cause lawlessness and chaos), and with the exception of a few, they would not remain there.

And I swear, they had made a covenant with Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And a covenant with Allah is a responsibility.

Say: “If you flee from death or being killed, fleeing will not avail you. Then you will not be benefit except for a short time”.

Say: “Who can protect you from Allah if He wishes harm for you, or wishes mercy for you”? They cannot find yourself friend or helper other than Allah.

Allah certainly knew those among you who hindered (the help to the Prophet) and those who said to their brethren: “Come to us”. And except for a little, they do not participate in the battle.

They are stingy towards you. But when fear comes, then you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like one fainting because of death. When the feeling of fear passes away, they smite you being greedy for good with sharp tongues (with harsh words). They are not the believers. Therefore, Allah has made their deeds vain (destroyed) and this was ever easy to Allah.

They (the hypocrites) believe that the opponents have not gone. If the opponents came, then they (the hypocrites) would want to be among the Arab Bedouins and ask for news about you. And if they (the hypocrites) were among you, then except for a few, they would not participate in the battle.

I swear, you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who wish to return to Allah and (reach) the Last Day (the day of reaching Allah before death) and for those who much praise Allah.

And when the believers saw the opponents, they said: “This (victory) is what Allah and His Messenger promised. Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth”. And this only increased them in Faith and Submission.

Of the believers are men who were true to the covenant which they made with Allah (to remain loyal to their promise given to Allah that they would remain patient until they would become martyrs). So, some of them accomplished their covenant (died a martyr), and some of them are waiting (being a martyr) and they have not changed (anything from their covenants) in the least.

This is so that Allah will reward the faithful for their faithfulness and torment the hypocrites or accept their repentance if He wills. Surely, Allah is Oft- Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), the Most Merciful (the one Who acting Himself with His Name of Most Merciful).

And Allah turned back the disbelievers in their rage, they could not obtain any good (they could not become victorious) and Allah sufficed for the believers in the war (by making them victorious). And Allah is Ever All-Strong, Majestic.

And He drove down those of the People of the Book who backed them from their fortresses and He cast terror into their hearts. A group (of them) you were killing and a group (of them) you were taking captives.

And He made you heirs to their soil and their country, their property, and land which you have not yet stepped on and Allah has Power over all things.

O prophet! Say to your wives: “If you desire the life of this world and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision (I will give you your Mahr) and divorce you in a handsome manner.

And if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Abode of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared for the women among you who have become Muhsins a Mighty Reward”.

O wives of the Prophet! Whoever of you comes with an open indecency (or evil), the torment shall be increased for her in double. And this is ever easy for Allah.

And whoever of you attaches himself with reverence to Allah and His Messenger, and does righteous deeds (halfly cleansing the soul), We give her reward in double. And We have prepared for her an generous provision.

O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other of the women. If you are the owners of takwa (spiritual armor), then do not speak tenderly (do not talk seductively with men), otherwise the one in whose heart there is an disease (depravity) will desire you, but speak seriously.

And stay in your houses. Do not display (your embellishments) yourselves like the Time of Ignorance. And keep up the Prayer and pay Alms (Zakat). Obey Allah and His Messenger. O inhabitants of the House! Allah only wishes remove your sins and cleanse you completely.

And read what is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allah and (discuss about) the wisdom. Surely Allah is All-Subtle (Knower of subtleties), All-Aware.

Surely the men who submit (to Allah) and the women who submit (to Allah) and the believing men and the believing women, the obedient men (devoted to Allah with reverence) and the obedient women (devoted to Allah with reverence), the loyal men and the loyal women, and the patient men and the patient women, and for men who are in reverence (of their Lord) and women who are in reverence (of their Lord), and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women and the fasting men and the fasting women and the men who guard their chastity and the women who guard their chastity, and the men who repeatedly praise Allah and the women who repeatedly praise, Allah has prepared for them a replacement of their sins with good and a Greatest Reward.

And it is not for a believing man or a believing woman to have any choice in their affair when Allah and His Messenger have decided an affair for them. And whoever is rebellious (disobedient) to Allah and His Messenger, indeed becomes astray.

And you had said to the person on whom Allah has bestowed and you have bestowed as well: “Keep your wife (to yourself and do not divorce) and be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah”. You were hiding in your soul (yourself) that which Allah will make manifest and you were afraid of the people. Allah has a better right that you should fear Him. After Zaid broke off his relationship with her (divorced his wife), We married her to you, so that there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of (the marriage of) the wives of their adopted sons with whom they broke off the relationship (they have divorced them). And Allah’s Command had been fulfilled.

There is no difficulty for the Prophet in (fulfilling) what Allah has ordained for him. That has been the Sunnetallah (Law of Allah). Allah’s command was a decreed destiny (that is fulfilled).

They (the Prophets) convey the Message of Allah and are in reverence towards Him, and do not fear any but Allah. And Allah is Sufficient as a Reckoner.

Muhammed is not the father of any of your men. But he is the (Resul) Messenger of Allah and the Seal (the Last) of the Nebis (Prophets). Allah is Ever All-Knower of all things.

O you who believe (who are Amenû, who wish their spirits to reach Allah while they are living)! Repeat the name of Allah a lot (more than half of the day).

And glorify Him morning and evening.

He and His angels send to you (through the light with name) salavat to bring you (the hearts of your souls) out of the darkness into the light. And He is Merciful for believers (He acting with His Name Merciful).

Their greeting (reward) on the Day when they shall meet with Him is: “Peace” and an generous reward have been prepared for them.

O Prophet! Surely, We have sent you as a witness, and as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a Warner,

and as one inviting to Allah and as a light-giving lamp by His Permission.

And give glad tidings to the believers that there is great (light of) Generosity from Allah for them.

And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and ignore (their) annoyances and put your trust in Allah. And Allah is Sufficient as a Surrogate (for you).

O you who believe (who wish their spirits to reach Allah while they are alive)! When you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term. So, give some provision to them (give their Mahr) and release them divorcing with a best possible way.

O Prophet! Surely, We have made permissible to you your wives to whom you have paid their Mahr and those (concubines) whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as booty. And the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who migrated with you, and a believing woman who offered Her soul (herself) to the Prophet, and where the Prophet also wishes to marry her, (We made lawful) specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers. We know what We have obligated upon them (rest of the believers) about their wives and those (concubines) whom their right hands possess (this is) in order that there should be no difficulty on you. Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), the Most Merciful (the One Who manifests Himself with His Name of Most Merciful).

You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you please. And there is no blame for you whom you desire of those (again) that you had released. This is the most suitable for them to rejoice and not grieve, and they all be pleased with what you have given them. And Allah knows what is in your hearts and Allah is Ever All-Knowing, Most Gentle.

After this, it is not lawful for you to change (with another woman) one of the (other) women or your wives even though their beauty pleases you, except those (concubines) whom your right hand possesses. And Allah is Watcher over all things.

O you who believe (who wish their spirits to reach Allahwhile they are living)! Do not enter the Prophet’s houses unless permission is given to you! (If you have entered them) do not wait (taking your time) for a meal to be prepared. But enter when you are invited. When you have eaten your food, disperse immediately and do not linger for conversation, nor keep with your conversation (talk without permission). Surely this was inconvenience to the Prophet but he was feeling shy of you. Allah is not shy of (telling you) the truth. When you ask of them (the wives of the Prophet) anything, ask of them from behind a curtain. This is purer for your and their hearts. It is not proper for you to cause inconvenience the Messenger of Allah and it is forever forbidden for you to marry his wives. Surely this is an enormous sin with Allah.

Whether you divulge a thing or keep it hidden, surely Allah is Ever All-Knowing of all things.

There is no sin on them (on the Prophet’s wives) to show themselves to their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or women, or what their right hands possess (their slaves). Be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah. Surely Allah is Ever All- Witness over everything.

Surely, Allah and His angels greet the Prophet with respect. O, those who became amenu (wished to return the spirit of Allah to death), and you respectfully greet him (the Prophet) by submitting (to him)!

Surely, (as for) those who annoy Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.

And those who undeservedly annoyed believing men and believing women are loaded with slander and obvious sin.

O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers (believing women) that they wrap themselves up in their over garments (cover themselves). This is more proper, that they may be known (that they are not female slaves but they are free and chaste women) and thus they will not be given annoyance and Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), Most Merciful (acting His Name Mercy).

If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and those who spread false news among the people in the city do not desist, We shall most certainly let you attack them. Then they will not be (able to stay in it as) your neighbors but a little while.

Wherever the cursed ones are found, they shall be seized and killed violently.

This was the Sunnatullah (the Law of Allah) (and) about the previous generations, and you will never find a change in the Sunnatullah of Allah!

People ask you of that Hour (the Day of Resurrection). Say: “The knowledge of it is with Allah only”. And it is not made known to you. It may be that the Hour is near.

Surely Allah has cursed the disbelievers. He has prepared for them a flaming Fire (Hell),

where they will stay forever. They can not find a friend or a helper.

On the Day when their faces are turned over (from one side to another) in the Fire, they shall say: “O, would that we had obeyed Allah and had obeyed the Messenger”!

And they will say: "Our Lord! Truly, we followed the religious leaders and our superiors, so we strayed away from Your Way (Sıratı Mustakîm).

Our Lord! Give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!”

O you who believe (who are Amenû)! Be not like those who persecuted Moses! And Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was worthy of regard with Allah.

O you who are âmenû (those who wished to return the spirit to Allah before death), be the owners of (second) takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah and speak the right word,

so that He changes them into righteous deeds and replaces your sins with good and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he indeed is saved with the greatest reward.

Surely, We offered a Trust (the Spirit) to the heavens, the earth and the mountains, but they refused to accept it and were afraid of it. And man accepted him, for it (the soul) is very tyrant and very ignorant.

This is so that Allah may torment the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women and the associating men and the associating women and to accept the repentance of the believing men and the believing women. Allah is Ever Oft- Forgiving (Replacing sins with good), Most Merciful (Acting with His Name of Most Merciful).

33:1

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

Yea ayyuhan nabiyyuttakilleaha va lea tutıil keafireena val muneafikeen(muneafikeena), innaalleaha keana aaleeman haakeemea(haakeeman).

O Prophet! Be the owners of takwa (spiritual armor) towards Allah and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Surely Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All- Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgment).
